Under the full moon, sharing the warmth of the Mid-Autumn Festival. To further promote and preserve Chinese traditional culture while enriching the cultural life of the public, a series of Mid-Autumn folk experience activities were held at Baotu Spring Park, part of the No. 1 Spring Scenic Area. Themed “Sharing the Moon of the City of Springs: A Mid-Autumn Full of Love,” the event allowed participants to experience traditional Mid-Autumn customs and spread festive blessings.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, a cherished traditional Chinese holiday, carries people’s aspirations for reunion, harmony, and happiness. Mooncakes, the centerpiece of the festival, embody the charm of folk culture and hold symbolic meaning. Since this is our festival, it was only fitting to enjoy the fun of traditional customs together. At the event, a professional pastry chef offered live demonstrations, and participants eagerly joined in the fun, crafting mooncakes, chatting with one another, and exchanging blessings as they joyfully welcomed the Mid-Autumn Festival. In this atmosphere of reunion and harmony, they fully embraced the charm of this traditional celebration.
The event began with a senior pastry chef from Sheraton Hotel, who explained the techniques of making mooncakes, from kneading dough to preparing fillings, molding, and baking. Guests and visitors couldn’t wait to try for themselves, filling, pressing, and molding mooncakes, all while laughing and enjoying each step. Many of the participants, who usually work diligently behind the scenes, took this rare opportunity to gather together. They crafted mooncakes using happiness as the dough and memories as the filling, wrapping their wishes for reunion inside. The smiles on their faces reflected the joy of accomplishment and the satisfaction of making something by hand.

At the end of the event, guests and visitors shared a variety of mooncakes, with the round shape symbolizing their hopes for reunion. This Mid-Autumn event combined folk traditions and interactive activities, allowing everyone to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere while enhancing their holiday experience. The No. 1 Spring Scenic Area will also launch the “Minghu Flower Moon Night” series of activities, with the iconic Chaoran Tower extending its hours until 9 PM, offering visitors the chance to enjoy moonlit views from the tower. Additionally, the moat and Daming Lake will host special Mid-Autumn performances, where guests can take a boat ride along the springs, sail across Minghu Lake by night, and enjoy the immersive performances along the way.
